It seems that aristocracy of the Heian period (794 - 1185) wore many layers of monochromatic clothing took care of matching colors of the collar. This array of colors called “ Kasane “ indicate the identity of their own , annual events, season and cultural grounding. Japanese culture was developed by introducing various aspects of continental culture and this cultural layers (Kasane) had transmitted into a sublimit Japanese culture as seen in Tale of Genji Picture Scroll. In our art proposal, many layers of new Kyoto’s culture are elegantly shown by adopting both traditional and contemporary artwork dynamically.
