Nirai Kanai—Traveling on the Wind: Sea, Forest, Earth
Okinawa has long been believed to be home to “Nirai Kanai,” a mythical utopia inhabited by deities far across the sea. Inspired by Okinawa’s powerful and abundant nature, we curated art pieces that gently resonate with guests as they unwind and immerse themselves in island time. By thoughtfully pairing contemporary artwork with traditional Yachimuth (Okinawan pottery) and Ryukyu glass, we created a space uniquely suited to this premier Okinawan resort hotel.

An art project capturing the light of Tokyo Bay, where people and goods continuously intersect.
To serve as a visual focal point (eye-catcher) in the entrance of this logistics facility adjacent to Tokyo Bay, we installed a piece by Takeshi Ogawa, known for expressions using materials like acrylic plates and special films to manipulate the refraction of light. The artwork depicts a ship navigating forward, guided by a single beam of light piercing through the clouds, with its hull reflecting the colorful prism of the water’s surface. It symbolizes hope for pioneering the future and the enduring will to keep moving forward.

Transforming daily life into fiction: The Tenjin-Nishi Intersection Public Art Project
In the new plaza fronting an office building at the Tenjin-Nishi intersection in Fukuoka, “someone” with a mysterious head resembling crumpled geometric paper sits quietly on a bench. In tandem with this striking sculpture, a series of works sharing the same geometric motif by Italian artist Esther Stocker unfolds across subway entrances and various spots in the plaza. These shared visual codes suddenly interrupting the everyday landscape transform the entire plaza into something akin to a theatrical stage. It is an experiential public art installation that seamlessly invites passersby from reality into a pleasant world of fiction.
