In 2020, a large-scale complex development "Otemachi One" with a total floor area of approximately 360,000 m2 was completed in Tokyo. The artwork "Revolver" by Scottish artist Aeneas Wilder is installed as a part of ‘Tuning Zone’ , the featured lobby space at the main entrance of the new head quoter of Mitsui & Co., which is relocated in the office tower of this new complex.
"Revolver" is a sphere shape sculpture in 3.2 m diameter, made of about 200 pieces of cypress wood timber. It was created as a symbol of the tradition of Mitsui & Co., who are a team accumulated as a group of strong “individuals”. The cypress timber used for the artwork was carefully sawed from the company-owned forest "Mitsui Bussan no Mori".
